ReNew Energy Global Plc has announced the establishment of a ₹4,200 crore ($450 million) solar ingot-wafer manufacturing facility in Anakapalli district, Andhra Pradesh, which is set to become one of India's first greenfield solar manufacturing plants. The facility, expected to be operational within 24 months, aims to create over 2,100 jobs and is part of ReNew's broader commitment of ₹82,000 crore to boost clean energy initiatives in the state. Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu emphasized the project's significance in positioning Andhra Pradesh as the 'Silicon Coast of India' and enhancing the state's economic development. The facility will enable ReNew to produce critical components for solar energy, thereby localizing the supply chain and reducing reliance on imports. This investment aligns with India's clean energy transition goals and showcases ReNew's role as a key player in solar manufacturing, with plans to expand its capacity significantly by December 2026. Additionally, ReNew is involved in various CSR initiatives across Andhra Pradesh, further solidifying its commitment to community development.
