In a significant drug bust in Pratapgarh district, Uttar Pradesh, five individuals were arrested late Sunday for their involvement in drug trafficking. The police seized over 202.31 grams of methamphetamine, valued at ₹1 crore (approximately $120,000 USD), from the suspects who were apprehended near the Saifabad-Muraini marg while allegedly planning to distribute the drugs in the area. The arrested individuals have been identified as Anand Mishra (35), Diyanshu Dubey alias Gabbar (20), Alok Shukla (24), Manjeet Mishra (21), and Suraj Dubey alias Dipesh (22). They are now facing charges under section 22C of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and section 207 of the Motor Vehicles Act. Law enforcement officials are working diligently to dismantle the drug supply chain and uncover the local networks that facilitated this operation. Investigations revealed that Anand and Manjeet have extensive criminal histories related to drug trafficking, and their associates have also been implicated in similar activities, highlighting a broader issue of drug-related crime in the region.
