The Uttar Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority (UP RERA) has marked its ninth year by facilitating the return of ₹2,126 crore to homebuyers through 8,029 cases of recoveries and settlements since 2023. Chairman Sanjay Bhoosreddy highlighted the authority's commitment to enhancing homebuyer protection and transparency in the real estate sector. In 2023, 197 new projects were registered, with numbers increasing to 259 in 2024 and 308 in 2025, showcasing a growing trust among investors. Lucknow has emerged as a significant real estate hub, with 67 projects registered in 2025, closely following Gautam Buddha Nagar’s 69 projects. The authority reported that a total of ₹28,411 crore was invested in 2023, rising to ₹68,328 crore in 2025, indicating a robust investment climate. Additionally, starting from March 25, 2026, transfer charges for property allotments will be capped at ₹1,000 for transfers among blood relatives and ₹25,000 for third-party transfers, aimed at regulating costs.
