The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced the Class 12 results for 2026, revealing a drop in the pass percentage to 85.20%, down from 88.39% the previous year. A total of 17,80,365 students registered, with 15,07,109 passing the exams. Girls outperformed boys again, achieving a pass rate of 88.86% compared to 82.13% for boys.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) declared the Class 12 results for 2026, showing a notable decline in the overall pass percentage to 85.20%, down from 88.39% in 2025. Out of 17,80,365 registered students, 17,68,968 took the exams, with 15,07,109 passing. This year's examinations marked the first use of the On-Screen Marking (OSM) system for evaluating answer sheets, which involved 98,66,622 answer books being digitally assessed by over 70,000 evaluators. Girls continued to outperform boys, achieving a pass percentage of 88.86% compared to 82.13% for boys, resulting in a gap of 6.73%. Trivandrum topped the list with the highest pass rate at 95.62%, while Prayagraj recorded the lowest at 72.43%. Students who wish to improve their scores or those placed in the compartment category can take the supplementary exams scheduled for July 15.
