The device will feature a 6.5-inch OLED display and retains a familiar design with a front-facing camera integrated into the top bezel. Unlike earlier speculation about a punch-hole cutout, the design remains unchanged from the Xperia 1 VII. The new dimensions are 161.9 x 74.4 x 8.58 mm, making it slightly wider and thicker than its predecessor, with the overall thickness reaching 11.37 mm at its thickest point. This increase in thickness is attributed to a new square camera island that will accommodate larger sensors, including a new telephoto sensor. Sony is rumored to launch the Xperia 1 VIII in May, with availability expected in June, similar to the previous model.
