Adani Power shares have experienced a remarkable increase of 44% in April, marking 15 consecutive days of gains. This surge is attributed to rising temperatures across India, with several regions, including Delhi, Rajasthan, and Haryana, experiencing temperatures exceeding 42°C. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts continued heatwave conditions, which are expected to heighten power demand. As a result, Adani Power's market capitalization has soared by nearly ₹1.3 lakh crore, reaching ₹4.19 lakh crore. Analysts from JM Financial noted that average daily energy demand rose by 10% year-on-year, reflecting the impact of the current heatwave and the anticipated effects of El Nino, which is expected to lead to above-normal temperatures. Historical data indicates that previous El Nino years have resulted in significant increases in power demand, with expectations for this summer's peak demand to reach 271 GW. Harshal Dasani, Business Head at INVasset PMS, recommends Adani Power as a strategic investment opportunity amid these conditions.
