At Ludhiana's main bus stand, commuters are expressing frustration over the lack of functional drinking water facilities as temperatures soar to 42°C. Many water coolers are reported as either non-functional or poorly maintained, leading to health concerns among passengers who fear the water's quality. Commuters, including students, daily-wage laborers, and families, struggle to find adequately chilled water, especially during long waits. Complaints about unhygienic conditions and malfunctioning equipment have surfaced, with some passengers questioning the cleanliness of the area surrounding the coolers. Additionally, there are allegations of overcharging at public washrooms, where users are reportedly charged ₹10 instead of the standard ₹5 fee. In response, Nawraj Batish, General Manager of Punjab Roadways, acknowledged the issues and stated that one more cooler would be installed soon while promising to investigate the washroom fee complaints and improve overall maintenance at the bus stand.
