In Ludhiana, Punjab, police have registered a case against five individuals following a violent incident at a wedding reception held at South End Garden Marriage Palace on the night of April 27-28. The altercation arose when the venue management requested payment for outstanding dues from the groom's family, leading to a heated argument. Harpal Singh, the groom's father, allegedly summoned associates who assaulted the venue's general manager, Jaspreet Singh, and staff members, resulting in injuries. Singh claimed that during the chaos, the accused attempted to run him over with a car and stole a gold chain belonging to the palace owner, Sahil Aggarwal. The police have initiated raids to apprehend the suspects, and a case has been filed under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (Indian Penal Code).
