The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 will be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 31, shifting from its original venue in Bengaluru. This decision comes in response to specific requirements from local authorities that exceeded the BCCI's guidelines. The playoffs will be conducted across three venues this season: the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala will host Qualifier 1 on May 26, while the New International Cricket Stadium in New Chandigarh will stage the Eliminator on May 27 and Qualifier 2 on May 29. This marks a departure from the previous season, where the knockouts were held at two venues. Notably, if the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) reach the final, they will not benefit from the home advantage, despite having a strong season at their home ground, winning four out of five matches played there.
