Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami visited the Doon Sainik Institute in Dehradun to mark the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor, which effectively targeted terrorist camps in Pakistan following the Pahalgam terror attack. Dhami commended the Indian Army for its strategic precision during the 22-minute strike on May 7, asserting that India’s military capabilities are recognized globally. He issued a warning to critics questioning the military's courage, highlighting the government's proactive measures during crises, including a meeting convened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi with all Chief Ministers. Dhami also noted India's advancements in defense, stating that the Indian Army is now self-reliant and exports equipment to over 80 countries. He praised initiatives such as One Rank One Pension and the construction of the National War Memorial. Furthermore, he announced that the state government has increased compensation for martyrs' families by five times, with one family member guaranteed a government job for applications extended from two to five years. Ex-servicemen will also benefit from free travel on government buses and a 25% stamp duty discount on property purchases up to ₹25 lakh (approximately $30,000 USD).
