The partnership will involve Doosan conducting manufacturability reviews for essential reactor components. The projects include the Wylfa SMR initiative in Britain, where Rolls-Royce SMR has contracted with Great British Energy to begin site-specific design work for three reactors. In the Czech Republic, the company is collaborating with CEZ Group to conduct site licensing and preliminary design for the Temelin project. Rolls-Royce SMR, established in 2021, aims to develop a 470-megawatt SMR that is intended to provide stable baseload power for a minimum of 60 years. Kim Jong-doo, head of Doosan Enerbility's nuclear business group, emphasized that this cooperation represents a vital opportunity for expanding their role in the global SMR supply chain, leveraging their extensive experience in manufacturing nuclear power equipment.
