A devastating accident occurred on Friday afternoon near the Khed Shivapur toll plaza on the Pune-Bengaluru national highway, claiming the lives of Rajendra Baban More, 55, and Savita Rajendra More, 42, both residents of Warje Malwadi. The couple was riding their motorcycle (MH 12 FH 4696) towards Satara when a gas tanker (AP 03 TE 5759) collided with them, causing both riders to fall beneath the vehicle. Eyewitnesses reported that both the tanker and motorcycle were traveling at high speeds prior to the crash, and preliminary investigations suggest the tanker driver may have lost control. The impact was so severe that the motorcycle was thrown several feet away. Despite immediate alerts to the police, the couple succumbed to their injuries before medical help arrived. Following the incident, tensions escalated as local residents vandalized the tanker. The police managed to control the situation and have detained the tanker driver, Raj Kishan B, for questioning while conducting further investigations.
