This shipment is part of a series of fuel imports aimed at ensuring a steady supply amid rising demand. Earlier, the Parbatipur Padma Oil depot had received 8,000 tonnes on April 14 and 22,000 tonnes in March, bringing the total to 30,000 tonnes since March. Depot Manager Md Ahsan Habib Chowdhury confirmed that further supplies are expected, with another 7,000 tonnes scheduled to arrive from Numaligarh Refinery Limited within the next four to five days. The Bangladeshi government continues to prioritize diesel imports to maintain normal fuel stocks and ensure uninterrupted supply, keeping the depot operational even during public holidays.
