Charlie Heaton, famous for his role as Jonathan Byers in Stranger Things, has been cast as Charles Shelby in the new Peaky Blinders series. Set in Birmingham during the 1950s, this upcoming installment will delve into the Shelby family's struggles in the aftermath of World War II. Charles Shelby returns from the war, having spent much of his time behind enemy lines and severing ties with the Shelby gang's notorious lifestyle. This new series will see him reunite with his half-brother Duke, played by Jamie Bell, after years apart. The follow-up series continues from the acclaimed Peaky Blinders, which last aired in 2022 and starred Cillian Murphy as the ruthless Tommy Shelby. The new run has been confirmed for two series of six hour-long episodes, set to premiere on BBC iPlayer and BBC One in the UK, with a global release on Netflix. The original Peaky Blinders series, which began in 2013, became a cultural phenomenon and received critical acclaim, including the BAFTA award for Best Drama Series in 2018.
