Born in Cheshire, she began her illustrious broadcasting career at the BBC at just 13 years old, contributing to major programs such as 'Family Favourites' and 'Woman's Hour' throughout the 1960s. In 1974, she transitioned to ITV, where she became the beloved host of 'Wish You Were Here...?'. This travel program, which featured 30-minute episodes, became a staple of British television, running until 2003. Chalmers was honored with an OBE in 1994 for her contributions to the media industry.
