Vodafone Idea has received significant relief from the Indian government, with its adjusted gross revenue (AGR) dues slashed by 27% to ₹64,046 crore. This comes as part of a relief package approved by the Union Cabinet on December 31, which included a five-year moratorium on payments. The Department of Telecom (DoT) reassessed the AGR dues, which were originally set at ₹87,695 crore. Vodafone Idea will now make payments in two sets over ten years, with the first payment due after five years. Despite this relief, the company continues to face financial challenges, posting a loss of ₹17,418 crore during the nine months ending December 31, 2025, and carrying a total debt of ₹2.09 lakh crore. The share price of Vodafone Idea has shown volatility, gaining 20% in the last month but falling 8.5% over the past three months.
