The CBSE has mandated that all schools must update their R3 language choices on the OASIS portal by May 31, 2026. While many schools have already selected and uploaded their language options, some have submitted choices that do not align with the policy guidelines. Schools that have made incorrect submissions are allowed to correct their entries before the deadline. Additionally, the CBSE has announced that textbooks for scheduled Indian languages will be available on the CBSE and NCERT websites by July 1, 2026. The Board has reiterated the importance of teaching at least two Indian languages under the R1, R2, R3 system, urging schools to start classes by the specified date to ensure compliance and avoid delays in the new academic year.
