Fans expressed their discontent on social media, questioning how Chahal managed to bring a vape onboard, as the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) does not permit such items on flights. Under the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) regulations, smoking or vaping on aircraft is strictly prohibited and can classify a passenger as 'disruptive.' This could lead to an immediate 30-day flying ban without committee review. The backlash follows a similar incident involving Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag, who was also criticized for vaping during a match. Vaping is banned in India under the Prohibition of Electronic Cigarettes Act, 2019, making Chahal's actions even more controversial as they pose safety risks aboard flights.
