Coinbase Ventures has made a strategic investment in the decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol Ethena by acquiring ENA tokens, facilitating the introduction of USDe to Coinbase's extensive user base of 100 million. Ethena founder Guy Young announced that this integration will go live next week, marking a significant milestone for the platform. The collaboration focuses on dollar savings products and involves Circle's USDC stablecoin, although specific details of the partnership remain undisclosed. Young noted that the evolving CLARITY Act could provide favorable conditions for on-chain native products like USDe. However, despite this positive development, Coinbase's stock (COIN) fell by 5%, breaking below crucial support levels and reflecting broader market challenges, particularly as Bitcoin trades below $70,000. The USDe project aims to reverse its declining market cap, which has been a concern since late 2024, by leveraging Coinbase's vast user network for distribution.
