Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri is anticipated to visit Nepal in the first half of May 2023, representing India's first high-level interaction with the newly formed government led by Prime Minister Balendra Shah. Official sources from Nepal's Foreign Affairs Ministry confirmed that while the exact date and details are yet to be finalized, the agenda will focus on enhancing bilateral relations and reviewing India-funded projects in Nepal. Earlier this month, Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar met with Nepalese Foreign Minister Shisir Khanal in Mauritius, where they discussed mutual cooperation and the importance of Misri's visit. This diplomatic engagement is expected to set the stage for Prime Minister Shah's forthcoming visit to India, following an invitation from Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi after Shah took office in late March.
