In February 2025, police in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, discovered 14-year-old Abdul Aziz Khan, who had been missing for seven years after being kidnapped at age 7 in Atlanta, Georgia. The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded to a trespassing complaint at a vacant house, where they found Khan and another child inside a parked car. Upon questioning, they arrested Rabia Khalid, Khan's non-custodial mother, who had an active warrant for his kidnapping during a custody battle in 2017.
