In a move to address rising student concerns about the newly implemented On-Screen Marking (OSM) system, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has slashed revaluation and answer sheet verification fees. The revaluation fee has been reduced from ₹700 to ₹100, while the verification fee has dropped from ₹500 to ₹100. This decision comes amid anxiety expressed by Class 12 students regarding their results, which they attribute to the changes in the assessment scheme. To further support students, CBSE has launched a tele-counseling helpline at 1800-11-8004 and an official email channel for queries. The board has reassured students that it is committed to their well-being and is sensitive to their concerns. Additionally, a request window will be opened from 19th to 22nd for students to review their evaluated answer scripts and report any discrepancies. CBSE Controller of Examinations Sanyam Bhardwaj highlighted the board's commitment to transparency, noting that while it evaluates approximately 1.25 crore answer scripts annually, errors can occur and are addressed through these facilities.
