The West Bengal Cabinet, under Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, held its inaugural meeting at 11 am on Monday at Nabanna, the state secretariat. During this meeting, the portfolios of five newly sworn-in ministers—Dilip Ghosh, Agnimitra Paul, Nisith Pramanik, Kshudiram Tudu, and Ashok Kirtania—are set to be announced. Adhikari, who was in his hometown of Contai in Purba Medinipur district, will also confer with top police officials to discuss security measures in light of recent post-poll violence, including the murder of his personal secretary, Chandranath Rath, on May 6. A reshuffle among IAS and IPS officers is anticipated as the government evaluates the reinstatement of officials transferred during the elections. Furthermore, two IAS officers and seven West Bengal Civil Services officers have been appointed to the Chief Minister's Office, reflecting a broader administrative restructuring. Adhikari emphasized the government's commitment to progress and trust, stating that the involvement of all stakeholders is crucial for West Bengal's development. In addition, Minister Tudu highlighted the government's priority to investigate and take action against individuals holding fake SC and ST certificates.
