In a significant operation, security forces arrested nine individuals in Churachandpur district, Manipur, India, including three militants from various factions. Among those apprehended was Lalthangjohn, a cadre of the Kuki National Army-Burma (KNA-B), who was found with a 9 mm pistol and ammunition. The arrests come amid allegations of KNA-B's involvement in attacks on Naga-inhabited villages near the Myanmar border. Additionally, a woman cadre from the People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK) and another militant from the Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (SOREPA) faction were also detained. The operation also led to the arrest of four drug peddlers, with over 2.5 kg of brown sugar seized, underscoring the dual challenges of militancy and drug trafficking in the state.
