The Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) has publicly criticized Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) chief Vijay for attempting to gather political support through WhatsApp messages instead of personal meetings with political leaders. This criticism comes amid a deadlock in Tamil Nadu's 234-member Assembly, where TVK emerged as the single largest party with 108 seats, but still falls short of the 118 seats needed for a majority. VCK's general secretary, Sinthanai Selvan, questioned Vijay's leadership and whether he is being misled by his advisors. He emphasized the importance of personal engagement in coalition-building, especially in a politically sensitive environment where the BJP may attempt to impose Governor's rule. Selvan also criticized TVK's resort politics and the perceived arrogance of some of its leaders post-election. The VCK, holding two seats, is in a crucial position to influence the formation of the government, as TVK requires support from smaller parties, including the Congress, to secure a majority. Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar has expressed concerns about TVK's ability to prove majority support, further complicating the political landscape.
