During an event in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath hailed the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya as a demonstration of the double-engine government's strength, stating that it represents a significant triumph after 500 years. He asserted that today, only devotees of Lord Ram are permitted to enter Ayodhya, contrasting this with past eras when even mentioning Ram was prohibited. Adityanath reflected on the Ram Temple movement, which involved many over 40 years old, who witnessed the oppression faced during earlier attempts to build the temple. He also highlighted the upcoming consecration of a new idol of Ram Lalla on January 22, 2024, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi participating. Furthermore, he referenced Maharaja Suheldev, an important figure in UP's history, as an enduring symbol of valor against invaders, reinforcing the cultural narrative surrounding the temple's significance. The event also marked the inauguration of 262 development projects worth ₹516 crore, showcasing the government's commitment to regional development.
