Himanta Biswa Sarma has been sworn in as the Chief Minister of Assam for a second consecutive term, marking the continuation of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government in the state. Alongside Sarma, four ministers will take their oaths, reinforcing the NDA's dominance following a decisive victory in the Assam Assembly elections. The new cabinet includes Rameswar Teli and Ajanta Neog from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Atul Bora from the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP), and Charan Boro from the Bodoland People's Front (BPF). Rameswar Teli, a senior tea-tribe leader, has returned to state politics after a significant tenure in national politics, while Ajanta Neog has been a long-time ally of Sarma, serving as Finance Minister in the previous government. Atul Bora has a history of involvement in the Assam Agitation and has previously held ministerial roles, while Charan Boro has been elected multiple times from his constituency. Additionally, Ranjeet Dass has been nominated as the NDA's candidate for the Speaker's position in the Assam Assembly.
