Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) announced the successful completion of seaplane trial operations to the Lakshadweep islands, a significant move to enhance regional air connectivity and promote tourism. The trials utilized the DHC6-400 Twin Otter seaplane, which can carry 19 passengers and meets Category 3 Rescue and Fire Fighting Services (RFFS) requirements. The operations included three flights: from Kochi (COK) to Agatti (AGX), local training flights at Agatti's water aerodrome, and the return flight to Kochi. The first flight departed at 9:30 am and arrived at 11:30 am, followed by training sorties until 1:30 pm, with the final return flight taking off at 3:00 pm.
