Mirae Asset Mutual Fund has introduced the 'Platinum Hybrid Long-Short Fund' as part of the newly created Specialised Investment Fund (SIF) category. This fund will be available for investment from May 20 to June 3, 2026. Aimed at conservative investors, it seeks to deliver stable returns over a one to two-year horizon by utilizing a blend of equity, debt securities, and derivatives for downside protection. The fund will maintain controlled equity exposure ranging from 5-70%, alongside fully hedged arbitrage positions and debt exposure of 25-35%. The minimum investment required is ₹10 lakh (approximately $12,000 USD). Neelesh Surana, Chief Investment Officer at Mirae Asset, emphasized that the SIF framework combines the advantages of mutual funds with specialized strategies, providing regulatory safeguards. The fund will be managed by Gaurik Shah, who brings expertise in quantitative investing and derivatives. This offering is particularly targeted at investors looking for lower downside risk and stable returns in various market conditions.
