Puducherry's 2026 Assembly elections witnessed a historic voter turnout of 89.83%. Incumbent Chief Minister N. Rangaswamy secured victory in the Thattanchavady constituency, continuing his political momentum. He is also contesting from Mangalam, a seat currently held by the AINRC, where C. Djeacoumar won in the last election by a margin of 2,751 votes over the DMK. In Yanam, Independent MLA Gollapalli Srinivas Ashok, who previously defeated Rangaswamy, is a notable candidate. The BJP's A. Namassivayam aims to retain his seat in Mannadipet, having won in 2021 by 2,750 votes against the DMK.
