A shooting incident late Saturday night at a QuikTrip convenience store on Westport Road in Kansas City resulted in one fatality and left another individual critically injured. Kansas City police responded to the scene around 11:30 p.m., where they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds. One was pronounced dead at the scene, while the other was transported to a hospital and remains in critical condition as of Sunday morning. The QuikTrip is located near Andy’s Frozen Custard, approximately a quarter mile from the Kansas state line. As of now, police have not identified any suspects and confirmed there is no ongoing threat to the community. This shooting marks the 56th homicide in Kansas City for 2026, a slight decrease compared to 69 reported at the same time last year. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Kansas City Police Department or the anonymous TIPS Hotline, which offers a reward of up to $25,000 for useful information.
