Prateek Yadav, the younger son of Mulayam Singh Yadav, passed away at the age of 38 due to complications from pulmonary thromboembolism, a condition linked to his history of deep vein thrombosis (DVT). According to Dr. Ruchita Sharma, his family doctor, Yadav had been at high medical risk and had previously sought treatment for DVT, which he had discontinued. He was admitted to Medanta Hospital in Lucknow on April 29 after experiencing chest pain and breathlessness, where pulmonary thromboembolism was diagnosed. Despite being advised to undergo thrombolysis, an emergency procedure to dissolve blood clots, Yadav declined due to fear, opting for blood thinning injections instead. The autopsy revealed multiple injuries, which were noted as being of varying ages, and indicated a slip in the bathroom prior to his hospitalization. Prateek Yadav, who was passionate about fitness and animal welfare, ran an NGO named 'Jeev Aashray' and was married to Aparna Bisht since 2011.
