The Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation has announced a ₹4 increase in milk prices, effective Sunday. Toned milk will now be priced at ₹54 per litre, while premium milk will cost ₹58, up from ₹54. The price for gold premium milk has also been revised to ₹60 per litre, and the gold premium plus variant will now be sold at ₹64. Odisha's Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Minister Gokulananda Mallik stated that the price hike is necessary due to rising processing and transportation expenses, emphasizing that this is the first revision in a long time. He assured that the quality of milk would remain uncompromised, and procurement prices for farmers have also been increased, with cow milk now fetching ₹39.05 per litre and buffalo milk rising by ₹1.60 per litre.
