In a tragic incident in Junnar taluka, Maharashtra, Sagar Sadashiv Shinde, a 29-year-old man, was arrested within 12 hours for allegedly strangling his three-year-old daughter, Harshada. On Tuesday, Shinde took his two children, Aryan (5) and Harshada, for an outing but later left Aryan wandering alone near a forest along the Pune–Nashik highway. When locals found Aryan crying, he revealed that his father had abandoned him and his sister in the forest. Shinde returned home and falsely claimed the children were safe in a rented room. Suspicious family members contacted the police, leading to Shinde's confession and the recovery of Harshada's body. The case has been registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), with the investigation being led by inspector Vishwas Jadhav and assistant inspector Amol Panhalkar.
