Uttar Pradesh's transport department has intensified its crackdown on vehicles equipped with modified silencers and pressure horns, following directives from the state's high court. On Tuesday, enforcement teams in Lucknow seized 13 vehicles and issued challans to nine motorcycles for violating noise regulations. Penalties for such violations range from ₹10,000 to ₹11,000. The campaign, led by Lucknow's ARTO (enforcement) Alok Kumar Yadav, included inspections in various areas such as Amausi, Alambagh, and Qaiserbagh. Additionally, officials warned 20 shopkeepers and service center operators against selling or installing these illegal devices. The transport department aims to reduce noise pollution and enhance public convenience, with plans to continue inspections in the coming days. Other violations included five overloaded vehicles and nine vehicles lacking High Security Registration Plates (HSRP).
