The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has launched four online Master of Technology (M.Tech) programs focusing on Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, Construction Engineering & Project Management, Smart Grid, and Sustainable Energy Technologies. These programs aim to equip students with skills relevant to rapidly evolving industries, including infrastructure and clean energy. Fully online and Senate-approved, the programs can be completed in 2 to 4 years, allowing students to balance their studies with professional commitments. Applicants need a minimum CPI of 5.5 or 55% marks in their qualifying degree. The admission process comprises a two-stage evaluation: an online entrance test followed by a department-level assessment, which may include an interview. Candidates with valid GATE scores or substantial professional experience may be exempted from the entrance test. Professor Vimal Kumar, overseeing outreach activities, stated that these programs are designed to meet both national and global educational needs, providing flexible access to advanced education for fresh graduates and working professionals alike.
