On Sunday evening, tension erupted in Barsana, Mathura district, Uttar Pradesh, when Supreme Court advocate Diwakar Sharma was allegedly abducted by Baldev Chaudhary, a former Nagar Panchayat chairman, and his aides. The incident sparked protests from over 500 local residents demanding Sharma's release. Police responded by forcibly entering the house where Sharma was held, finding him alongside 43 aides of Chaudhary, all armed with batons. Following the rescue, the police arrested all 44 individuals and presented them in court, where they were remanded to jail on charges including abduction and attempt to murder. The conflict reportedly arose from a business dispute between Sharma and Chaudhary, who had previously partnered in property dealings. Following the abduction, Sharma claimed he was pressured to sign documents while in captivity. Police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
