Banerjee, however, holds a narrow lead of 3,830 votes in the Bhabanipur constituency against BJP candidate Suvendu Adhikari. Prime Minister Narendra Modi commended BJP workers for their efforts, marking these elections as a pivotal moment for the party in a state historically dominated by the TMC and Left parties.
