Pulkit Samrat took on the challenge of doing action as wrestler Ravinder Singh in Mirzapur fame Karan Anshuman’s Glory. The actor, who is quite selective with the number of projects he does in a year, shared that the reason behind not taking up many roles is a lack of choice. Pulkit, while speaking exclusively to News18, revealed that he wishes to take on roles that challenge him. Why is Pulkit doing fewer projects? When asked if it is his informed decision to do fewer but better projects, Pulkit Samrat told us, “I would say it is a lack of choice, because when something exciting comes along, you definitely jump on it. Either the team has to be exciting, or the script has to be exciting. The character has to have some sort of challenge so that when you go back home, you feel that you have done something meaningful.” The actor, who took on an action avatar in his new series, shared, “The conscious decision was to say yes to good work, and Glory is one of the best things I have been offered and the biggest challenge that I have taken. It definitely required a lot of physical preparation, but once you step inside the ring, you realise that boxing is not only about physical strength but also about the mind game. So, I had to work on various facets, as the character had a lot of layers.” Pulkit Samrat is ‘obsessed’ with action When asked what is the one thing he really wishes to do next, Pulkit revealed that after working on Glory, he is “obsessed with action.” He thinks, “Action is fantastic when it comes with a lot of emotions attached to it, even the smallest push has a reason behind it.” For Pulkit, action in our country has just started being explored in a much better way. The actor, while speaking to us, shared, “I just want to keep doing good work, the kind of work I would want to watch even when I am not a part of it.” About Pulkit’s new series Glory Set against the rugged backdrop of Haryana’s boxing circuit, Glory follows two brothers bound by tragedy and driven by vengeance. Their return is not just about reclaiming honour, but also about confronting the forces that shattered their family. The sport becomes both a battleground and a metaphor, reflecting their internal struggles as they fight to rewrite their narrative. It’s a story of resilience, anger, and the pursuit of justice through physical and emotional endurance.
