The Election Commission of India (ECI) has mandated re-polling at 15 polling stations in West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district. This decision affects 11 stations in the Magrahat Paschim assembly constituency and 4 in the Diamond Harbour constituency. The re-polling is set for May 2, following the initial voting that occurred on April 29, 2026. The ECI's decision comes after receiving complaints from Returning Officers and Election Observers regarding alleged tampering with Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and issues with webcasting. The commission declared the previous poll at these stations void under Section 58(2) of the Representation of the People Act, 1951.
