In a significant move to enhance educational access, the Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar Municipal Corporation has announced a plan to distribute free textbooks to 1,40,299 students on the first day of school, June 15. This initiative targets students from Std I to VIII across government, aided, and local body schools in the city. Municipal Commissioner Amol Yedage emphasized the importance of this distribution to prevent past delays that disrupted students' academic schedules. The civic body has prioritized this effort, with preparations underway at a central distribution center located at St Xavier's School in Cidco N-1. Officials confirmed that 6.6 lakh textbooks have already been received, and distribution to schools will occur from June 8 to June 12. Updated textbooks for certain grades have also been stocked at the center. The formal distribution event will be attended by various local officials and education representatives, ensuring a collaborative approach to this educational initiative.
