Sonia, a 45-year-old woman from Rohini Sector 11 in Delhi, has been dubbed a 'master thief' by police after a series of gold thefts, including a recent heist valued at ₹1.5 crore (approximately $180,000 USD). Since her first theft in 2008, she has managed to evade arrest despite multiple accusations. Police initiated a search after a complaint from businessman Vijay Pal Gupta, who reported that Sonia, his domestic help, had stolen gold jewelry from his home. When police arrived at her residence, they were met with an unexpected defense: 15 dogs, including Pitbulls and American Bullies, which Sonia had trained to guard her valuables. However, police successfully subdued the dogs and found Sonia hiding under quilts in her bedroom. Interestingly, instead of selling the stolen jewelry, Sonia had been using it to secure loans through lockers in non-banking financial companies, amassing over 2 kg of gold in the process. Authorities are now working to seize her properties, which are valued in crores.
