Prateek Yadav, a businessman and stepson of the late Mulayam Singh Yadav, passed away in Lucknow at the age of 38. He was the husband of BJP leader Aparna Yadav and had largely stayed away from active politics despite his family's prominence in Uttar Pradesh. Yadav's health had been deteriorating, and he was admitted to Civil Hospital after a medical team was called to his residence around 5 am. Despite attempts to revive him, he was declared dead at 5:55 am. The post-mortem examination revealed that his death was caused by cardiorespiratory collapse due to massive pulmonary thromboembolism, a condition he had been previously treated for. His health had been unstable, with multiple admissions to Medanta Hospital in Lucknow over the past year for various complications. Following the news of his demise, condolences poured in from political figures, including Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav, who expressed their grief and paid tribute to him. Prateek Yadav's last rites are set to take place on Thursday in Lucknow.
