A three-day training workshop for enumerators and supervisors involved in the Census 2026-27 began in Karaikal, India, on May 11, 2026. The training is crucial for the first phase of the census operation, which will focus on enumerating buildings and houses from June 1 to June 30, 2026. The second phase, which will involve the enumeration of the population, is set for February 2027. District Collector and Principal Census Officer Ishita Rathi, along with Sub-Collector and District Census Officer M. Pooja, are supervising the exercise. The training program, held at the Kamarajar campus, will also take place at local technical colleges, ensuring that all personnel are well-prepared for the upcoming census activities. The first phase of the training will conclude on May 13, with a second phase scheduled for May 18 to 20.
