The Malayalam film industry is in mourning following the tragic death of actor Santhosh K Nayar, who passed away at the age of 65 in a road accident in Pathanamthitta, Kerala. The accident occurred when the car he was traveling in collided with a van. His wife, who was with him, sustained injuries and is undergoing treatment. Leading actors Mohanlal and Mammootty expressed their grief and shared heartfelt tributes. Mohanlal referred to Nayar as a close friend and brother, reminiscing about their bond since college and their collaborations in numerous films. He praised Nayar's strong-willed personality and kind heart, which won him love from many. Mammootty also fondly remembered their working moments, extending his thoughts to Nayar's family and friends during this difficult time. Santhosh K Nayar made his film debut with the 1982 movie Ithu Njangalude Katha and appeared in over 100 films, becoming well-known for his roles as both a villain and a comic character.
