Barrie Drewitt-Barlow (57) and Scott Drewitt-Barlow (32), co-owners of Maldon & Tiptree FC, have been charged with serious offenses including human trafficking for sexual exploitation and multiple counts of rape. The charges were announced following an investigation by Essex police, which involved coordinated searches at their properties in Danbury, Maldon, and Braintree. Barrie Drewitt-Barlow faces three counts of sexual assault on a male and four counts of rape of a man aged 16 or over, along with two counts of arranging or facilitating travel for exploitation. Scott Drewitt-Barlow is charged with one count of sexual assault and one count of rape, as well as two counts of facilitating travel for exploitation. In light of these developments, ITV has decided to remove a planned six-part series titled 'Up the Jammers', which was set to follow the Drewitt-Barlows' journey in football club ownership. The show aimed to document their aspirations to elevate the club to the English Football League within four years.
