Sunil Subramaniam, the newly appointed chairman of selectors for Tamil Nadu's senior men and under-23 cricket teams, has articulated a vision centered on stability. In an interview, he stated that his primary focus will be on identifying players, defining their roles, and providing them with the necessary support to thrive. Acknowledging the team's recent struggles, having failed to qualify for the knockout stages in any major tournament last season, Sunil is determined to guide the team through a critical transition phase. He has already identified potential talents such as pacers D. Deepesh and R.S. Ambrish, both instrumental in the recent ICC Under-19 World Cup victory. Sunil, who has extensive experience with the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) Academy and the Indian team, plans to work closely with the under-19 committee to ensure a steady flow of talent into the senior ranks. He believes that with the right guidance, the existing talent pool can achieve significant success in the coming seasons.
