On Thursday morning, two men were apprehended in Nuh, Haryana, following a police encounter linked to cattle smuggling. The suspects, residents of Ghata Shamshabad in the Ferozepur Jhirka area, were allegedly transporting cattle for illegal slaughter when they were intercepted at a checkpoint. Upon being signaled to stop, the driver rammed into police barricades and injured assistant sub-inspector Bhupender Singh. In response to gunfire from the suspects, police acted in self-defense, injuring both men in the legs. They were taken to Shaheed Hasan Khan Mewati Government Medical College for treatment, where their condition is stable. Authorities recovered two cattle, two country-made pistols, and ammunition from the suspects. A case has been registered at the Sadar police station, and investigations are ongoing to identify any additional individuals involved in the smuggling operation.
