The robbers, who had rented houses in Surat using fake Aadhaar cards from Madhya Pradesh, held six individuals hostage for over an hour while demanding the keys. Two suspects, Subham Thakur and Vikram Singh Rajput, both from Gonda, Bihar, have been arrested and are in police custody for eight days. Police Commissioner Anupam Singh Gahlaut stated that the gang had expertise in gold heists and had previously targeted jewelry stores. Kundan Bhagat, who has a criminal history, is also implicated in a ₹14 crore gold robbery in Dehradun from November 2023. The gang's operational methods and connections highlight the challenges law enforcement faces in tackling organized crime.
