Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann highlighted the success of the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna (MMSY) during a review meeting, stating that the scheme has provided cashless treatments worth ₹654 crore to 3.79 lakh patients. Since its inception in January, 47.27 lakh health cards have been issued, covering 23.01 lakh families. The demographic breakdown shows that 51.5% of beneficiaries are women and 48.5% are men, with a significant focus on rural areas where 69% of the cards have been issued. To enhance accessibility, the government is developing a WhatsApp-based facility and a dedicated web portal for downloading e-cards, alongside a mobile app for registration. The scheme includes 835 empanelled hospitals, comprising 223 government and 612 private institutions, offering cashless treatment of up to ₹10 lakh per family annually. Additionally, Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh noted that nearly ₹86 lakh has been allocated for treating over 3,000 patients with respiratory ailments, including pneumonia and asthma, under this initiative.
